Statement of Permission
NCCMALERT is a service developed and operated by the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) (“We/Us”). The Council takes your privacy very seriously in relation to NCCMALERT service (“Service”).
Any personal information you (“You”/”Member”) give us is treated confidentially and held confidentially.
Please read the following statement to understand how we use your personal information. This policy may change from time to time so please check back on a regular basis.
How we gather information
We will NEVER release your personal information to any other third party without your express permission except for the sole purpose of data verification and supplementation. Members opt-in to receive NCCMALERT alerts. Members can opt out on their own by replying ‘STOP’, ‘REMOVE’, ‘OPT OUT’, ‘UNSUBSCRIBE’ or ‘CANCEL’ to the alerts.
We follow strict security protocols within our organization to safeguard any personal information you share with us.
How we store information
When you sign up for NCCMALERT, we collect personal information from you including your name and e-mail address. This information is secured by the Council using advanced technology in data security to prevent data loss or unauthorized access or use of personal data.
How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your information to anyone. Your personal information will not be released to any third party without your express permission except in special circumstances such as when the law requires it or under the circumstances described below.
Member Choices For Use Of Information
A member may discontinue participation in the Service at any time by submitting a termination request through email to info@nccm.ca or by replying to an alert. Any residual information will be deleted within 90 days of cancellation.
Consent
By disclosing your personal information on the Service web site, you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your personal information by the Service in the manner set out in this privacy statement.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims reserves the right to change this Statement, and/or any part thereof, at any time. Any change to the Statement shall be effective upon posting the modified Statement on the Service web site under Privacy Statement and the National Council of Canadian Muslims notifying the posting of the modified agreement on the Service web page for a period of 30 days. Member’s non-termination or continued use of Service after this period shall be deemed acceptance of the modified Statement.
