International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

March 21, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

The United Nations’ (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on March 21. The day aims to remind people of racial discrimination’s negative consequences. It also encourages people to remember their obligation and determination to combat racial discrimination.

In recognition of this day, the City of Ottawa (Diversity and Inclusion Branch) in partnership with the Ottawa Police Services will be hosting a panel discussion on experiences with racial discrimination. We invite staff and community members to join us and learn more about this important topic, understanding its impact in the workplace and in our community.  This can contribute to greater interactions with our colleagues and to better serving our community.

The NCCM’s Amira Elghawaby will be speaking at both panels.

These are free.

To Register: please contact Christine Malone at 613-580-2424 ext. 16186 or email Christine.Malone@Ottawa.ca
