Strengthening Your Voice Through Advocacy
Advocating for justice and equality with all levels of government on key domestic and international issues.
We are Strengthening Your Voice Through Advocacy by...
- Driving Policy Change for a More Just Canada
We engage with legislators, government agencies, and decision makers to shape laws and policies that make Canada equal for all Canadians. Our advocacy efforts ensure fair policies, human rights protections, eliminating discriminatory regulations from coast to coast. - Holding Institutions Accountable for Civil Liberties
Through public advocacy, we make sure that institutions, from law enforcement to schools, uphold the rights of all Canadians. When you raise your voice for every victim of hate, it conveys the message: enough is enough. We mobilize communities and amplify your voice, ensuring it reaches policymakers and government to challenge discriminatory practices and secure justice for marginalized communities. - Advocating Against Hate and Systemic Discrimination
From banning white supremacy groups to advocating for oversight in national security, protecting our institutions, and advocating for Palestinian human rights, we take action to end hate and discrimination worldwide.

2024 IMPACT
STAND For your rights
Our legislative and state advocates are a constant presence in federal government agency offices, at the House of Commons and Senate, and in every province in Canada, working with law and policymakers to ensure that we build equitable policies, stand up for human rights domestically and internationally, protect civil liberties, and end hate in Canada.
We’ve successfully helped pass laws, stop bad regulations for Canada, and engage productively with decision-makers to inform public policy.
Here’s just three NCCM major victories from the past few years that have dramatically changed Canadian policy:
– Banning the most dangerous white supremacist groups like the Three Percenters in Canada;
– Successfully pushing for a one-way weapons embargo in the context of human rights atrocities in Gaza; and
– Working to bring CSIS oversight into our national security regime.

From lifting prayer bans in schools to breaking dress code restrictions, bringing accountability to Islamophobes, and advocating for criminal justice reforms, our interactions with officials are focused on shaping policies that protect and respect all Canadians regardless of where they come from.
We stand for equality, justice, and inclusivity. For a Canada without hate, we need to join hands and fight for our future together, a future where no individual is targeted merely for their religion and ethnicity.

NCCM was the top lobbyist on the Hill in January 2024 and engages with thousands of decision-makers from coast to coast every year.

ANY QUESTIONS?
We work with the government to challenge discriminatory laws, strengthen protections, and stop Islamophobia. Our FAQ answers common questions about our advocacy, your rights, and how we are fighting. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, reach out—we’re always here to help.
Can my voice really make a difference?
Absolutely! Decision-makers pay attention when communities mobilize and speak up. Our advocacy has led to policy changes, funding commitments, and stronger protections for civil rights. Whether it’s through petitions, meetings with MPs, or public campaigns, your voice—when combined with others—has real power to create change.
Are NCCM’s government relations staff lobbyists?
Yes, our government relations team engages in lobbying, but we do much more than that. We advocate for policies that uphold justice and equity, build coalitions, and empower communities to directly engage with policymakers. Our approach combines grassroots mobilization with direct government engagement to push for meaningful change.
Does NCCM focus on short-term or long-term change?
Both. Some issues—like responding to hate crimes or urgent policy threats—require immediate action. At the same time, we work toward long-term systemic change, ensuring that our advocacy today lays the foundation for a more just and inclusive Canada in the future.
How does NCCM decide which issues to work on?
We focus on issues that impact civil rights, religious freedoms, and social justice in Canada. Our priorities are shaped by community concerns, legal expertise, and strategic opportunities to make a difference.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to support our advocacy work! You can sign petitions, attend lobby days, meet with your elected officials, or donate to help sustain our efforts. Get in touch with us to learn more about how you can take action.
