Shawn Ullah is a Government Relations Officer at the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), based in British Columbia. Raised in Edmonton, Alberta he has dedicated his career to public service and studies Public Relations at the University of Victoria.
Motivated by personal experiences of racism and Islamophobic hate, Shawn is on a mission to dispel stereotypes and discrimination against Muslims and minority communities. In 2017, he launched a blog to foster understanding and humanize the perception of Muslims. He also served as the Board Coordinator for the Mosquers Film Festival in 2020, where he worked alongside others to reshape public perceptions of Muslims through the showcasing Muslim talent in film.
Shawn is a passionate advocate for human rights, especially for marginalized communities worldwide. He envisions a world free from hate, working to create a brighter future for the next generation. His dedication and advocacy make him a prominent voice against online Islamophobic hate speech.
