Dalal Souraya obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary, where she received the Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella Prize, awarded to a student most likely to positively influence equity and social justice in Canada and globally. She obtained her B.A. in Political Science in 2018.

During law school, through her capacity as the Society of Law Students’ President, Dalal helped champion EDI initiatives and created a bursary to assist low-income students. During her undergraduate studies, Dalal was an active member of the Muslim Student Association and sat on the Women’s Committee at her local masjid. Her interests in human rights, access to justice, and social justice have led her to join NCCM, where she plans to continue advocating for positive change.

Prior to joining NCCM, Dalal worked at multiple non-profit organizations and has years of experience advocating on behalf of minority groups.
