Dear Minister Melanie Joly, Minister Harjit Sajjan, PM Justin Trudeau, I want to take a minute to thank you for the work you have done in ensuring that Canada contributes to humanitarian relief in Palestine. We all know the humanitarian and political pressure that the people of Palestine are living under in recent year, as they face even more illegal settlements being built on occupied territory. Thank you for honouring Canada’s pledge to uphold global human rights by committing $100 million over four years to Palestinian refugees. Now is a vital time for Canada to step up as the people of Palestine, including those who have been displaced from their homes, are in dire need of emergency assistance. I am encouraged that we have taken such a positive step in the right direction to help them. But this must not be the end. We can do so much more, and I know you will work to further fulfil Canada’s promise to the world’s most marginalized peoples. I look forward to more great things from you. Thank you,
