NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER TAWAKKOL KARMAN HEADLINING FOREIGN AFFAIRS CONFERENCE IN OTTAWA

At a time of great global upheaval, where the international order is under increasing strain, the National Council of Canadian Muslims, ISNA Canada, and Islamic Relief Canada are hosting a major foreign affairs policy conference this Sunday to be headlined by Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkol Karman.
The day-long “Muslim Voices in Foreign Policy” conference on September 25th is set to be an agenda setting event as the Parliamentary Session begins.
Keynote speakers scheduled to speak include:
- Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman
- TIME 100 Human Rights Lawyer Abubacarr Tambadou
- Leading Islamophobia Scholar Khaled Beydoun
From issues of ongoing human rights abuses in India, China, Myanmar, and elsewhere, the full day conference will include critical discussions and engaging Q/A sessions that prioritize creative explorations of concrete solutions.
The three keynote speakers will also be joined by an all-star lineup of Canada’s most influential community and activist voices on foreign policy, community organizing, politics, and activism. This includes Amnesty International Canada Secretary General Ketty Niyabandi, writer and activist Monia Mazigh, scholar Nadia Abu-Zahra, and many, many more.
Doors will open at 10am inside Ottawa’s Canadian Museum of History.
