Monument Lightings for the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia 

Cities across Canada will set their most prominent monuments alight in green as we approach January 29th, the anniversary of the shooting at the Islamic Cultural Centre in Québec City. Below are some of the monument lightings listed by province. We will update this list with any additional lightings that we are aware of.

As community members turn their hearts and minds towards commemoration, let’s make sure to remember with them.

As we reflect on this dark episode in Canadian history, let’s walk with those who remain resilient in the quest for a country free from Islamophobia and hate.

This January 29th will also be enshrined as the first annual “National Day of Remembrance of the Québec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia.”
