Dear MP Heather McPherson, Minister Melanie Joly, MP Robert Oliphant, MP Collins, MP Fry, MP Zuberi, MP Brunelle-Duceppe This Tuesday, you helped Canada take an important step toward honouring our commitments to global human rights. Canada cannot stand idly by as the people of Palestine continue to suffer under occupation and other challenges that impede their freedom. Your vote during Tuesday’s parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee session—to conduct a major study on how Canada can help foster human rights, international law, and a lasting peace in Palestine—is a necessary initial step toward our commitment to the people there. I hope it will lead to Canada doing the right thing in the coming years to support Palestinian human rights. Thank you,
