Calling for a Ceasefire is an Important Step

ACTION ALERT: Send a letter to Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow in appreciation for the call of a Ceasefire Toronto is home to many diverse people including many Palestinians, Christian and Muslim. As the civilian death toll rises to more than 10,000 Palestinians, over 4,000 of which have been children, we need Canada to be a voice for peace and justice. Far too many families in Toronto have lost loved ones in Gaza. There are far too many Canadians with roots in Toronto who are still stuck in Gaza. Mayor Chow has called for a ceasefire, and now all city councillors ...

It’s Time to Raise Your Voice

ACTION ALERT: Send a letter to Prime Minster Trudeau and Minister Joly condemning the Israeli strike on the Jabalia Refugee Camp This Tuesday, Israeli forces claimed responsibility for killing many civilians by striking the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza. This is a war crime. Attempting to justify blowing up a refugee camp to get at a military target is truly disturbing – and unjustifiable. Numerous international observers have condemned this use of force. Canada must condemn this violation of international law, along with rising attacks by settlers on ...

A First Step Towards Peace

Canada Needs To Call for an Immediate Ceasefire Today!

Last week, a bipartisan group of 33 MPs came together to urgently call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. As the civilian death toll rises to 5000 Palestinians, one third of which has been children, we need Canada to be a voice for peace and justice. The Israeli state appears to be committed to this unrelenting siege and unlawful blockade of the Gaza strip. There is no end in sight. Their threats of violence are only escalating. If this violence continues at this rate, many fear the ethnic cleansing or genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Enough is enough. The ...

ONTARIO NEEDS TO PROTECT MUSLIM STUDENTS

Canada Needs to Take IMMEDIATE Action Now

There is no question that war crimes are being committed in Gaza as we speak. Blockading basic necessities such as food, water and electricity are blatant human rights violations. Using white phosphorous as a weapon is a war crime. Collective punishment is a war crime. Children are being killed, hospitals are being bombed, journalists are being killed.  Sadly, we have also seen that as rhetoric escalates, and communities are made to bear the brunt of the backlash, it has real life consequences for Canadians. In London Ontario, we saw apartments with large ...

SEND A LETTER TO OUR LEADERS TELLING THEM TO LIVE UP TO CANADA’S COMMITMENTS TOWARDS INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS

The latest directive from the Government of Israel ordered 1.1 million people in Northern Gaza to somehow evacuate into an enclave further south, within a window of 24 hours. This is utterly inhumane, impractical, and a violation of international law. It is time for Canada to truly step up and oppose such a directive, to stand up for the human rights of Gazans and to work for a just and lasting peace.
